Sharalyn’s Story – the heart behind this course

This course is deeply rooted in my own story of adventures, joys, challenges, tears, growth, and learning to bloom where I was planted.
I have moved across the country four times and lived in five different states. I have moved as a single young adult, a newly married wife, and a mother of young children. I have felt the excitement of adventure and new beginnings, but also the heartbreak of leaving behind family, friends, and work I loved.
When we were transferred to Texas in 2013, I chose denial. I decided to ignore the sadness of leaving our dear friends and old life behind. I wanted to just start life at our new location and not think about how life had changed. Thankfully, God knew the pain in my heart. When someone invited me to a class for women who had moved, my pride kicked in. I quickly said, “No, I’ve done this plenty of times.” But I felt a quiet, persistent urge to go. That class changed everything. It helped my mind and heart process the grief, heal, and truly bloom again. It felt wonderful to bond and grow with women who knew firsthand what it means to start over.
It is from these deep roots that I write and teach this course. Whether this is your first move or you are still grieving a past transition, your heart can heal from the withering effects of starting life over. Together, we will process the toll of moving, plant your roots deep, fuel your mind, body, and heart to flourish, and watch you bloom!
